Rookie goalie Carter Froggett fashioned his finest outing in a Spitfires uniform on Friday. The big backstop made 15 saves in the first period and 29 of 30 overall as Windsor rang up a 3-1 road victory over the Kitchener Rangers to improve their record to 16-5-2 on the ’24-25 Ontario Hockey League season.
15 wins for Spitfires
The ’23-24 Ontario Hockey League season is becoming a distant past for the Spitfires. Windsor, which missed the OHL playoffs in ’23-24 with a record of 18-42-8, boosted its ’24-25 mark to 15-5-2 on Thursday with a 2-1 home ice win over the Barrie Colts.
Remember Brent Jarrett?
He would become the epitome of an unlikely standout at the Ontario Hockey League level with the Soo Greyhounds and Windsor Spitfires — and then in the minor pro ranks with the iconic Kalamazoo K-Wings. Not only did Brent Jarrett become a scoring legend in Windsor but he will soon have the no. 11 jersey that he wore for Kalamazoo retired.

They have an impressive record of 14-5-2 and are just three points out of first place in the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League. But the Spitfires have been in a bit of a tailspin of late wth a 5-4-1 record in their last 10 outings.

It is the way any team would want to begin a three game road trip up north — with a win. The Spitfires soared to a 5-0 lead and then held off a three goal push by the North Bay Battalion to leave town with a 5-3 verdict.
