Essex 73’s are up two
A pair of clear cut victories have given the Essex 73’s a 2-0 series lead over the Petrolia Flyers in their best of seven playoff set.
Gabe Barrette, Matt Crawford and Austin Guevremont (in photo at left) all had two point outings for the 73’s in a 4-1 series opening win before more than 600 fans at the Essex Center Complex.
Then in a 7-1 rout for Essex in Game 2, Guevremont, Karson Beuglet and Patrick McManus all had three point performances as the 73’s scored a one sided road win at Petrolia.
Brogan Colquhoun was in the net for both Essex wins.
Game 3 in the Provincial Jr. C Hockey League, Western Conference final is slated for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Essex Center Complex.
